Measuring 12x16 inches, painted 140lb cold-pressed paper, mounted to an acid-free board with archival methods. Crafted with the gouache and ink and finished with an matte varnish with UV Light Stabilizers to protect against fading and damage. It is framed in a gold and blue Art Nouveau 'pie crust' frame, complimenting its color palette perfectly and making it ready to hang.

About: Inspired by the tradition of using still life for visual storytelling, I painted As a Knife. The included symbols and objects can hold many meanings, and it was my intention to pull each viewer into that special place where in searching for meaning, we unearth our own. Magical objects in fantasy stories become totemic of our daily hopes and fears. As A Knife represents, among other things, the delicate tension between indulgent fantasy and sharp reality.
